Job Description & Personal Specification

Voluntary Roles: Trustees and Governors

The Trust is seeking to find several Trustees and/or Governors to join our Trust on a voluntary basis.

This is a great opportunity to take up voluntary work, especially if your employer promotes paid charity work days. You could become part of a small team who really do change children's lives.  We would welcome applications for these important roles from enthusiastic and reliable individuals who have a genuine interest in the welfare, care and development of children and young people with social, emotional or mental health considerations.

If you have are a local resident / parent / business owner or if you have a background in Education, Charity, Finance, HR, Children’s Social Care, Children’s or Adolescents Therapy we would be especially interested to hear from you, however, we would welcome all applicants as we seek a diverse group of volunteers.  To be a Trustee or a Governor you do not need prior experience but do need to share our passion about our services.

Full induction and ongoing training will be provided.

The Trust does require a level of commitment for the roles with an expectation to meet up to 4 evenings per year for full board meetings, and Governors are allocated to committees, which also meet 4 times a year. With a number of meetings now held online the commitment to travel has been reduced making these volunteer roles really flexible and suited to all individual situations.

To have an informal discussion with one of our Senior Team send me (Emma Charlton, HR Manager) an email at emma.charlton@talbothousetrust.co.uk.

Don't forget to leave your contact number in your email and either myself or one of our Senior Managers will ring you, or if you prefer, you can call me on 0191 229 0111.

These roles will remain open for the foreseeable future, however, will close once we feel we have found suitable volunteers.
