The School Day
Our school day allows children opportunities to make progress socially, emotionally and academically through a broad and balanced curriculum. At Talbot House we believe our children benefit from a curriculum that allows them to gain experience in social skills and working together, as well as independently to build life skills in preparation for adulthood. Both the Upper and Lower schools, structure the day so that a varied curriculum is offered, both academically and socially. Typically, during the morning pupils will follow core subjects and some foundation subjects leaving the afternoon enrichment curriculum to focus on activities which broaden their understanding of the wider community and diversity, and build relationships. We offer other foundation subjects during enrichment, to enhance life and social skills and provide challenge, and ultimately resilience for life.
