A note from Head Teacher, Christine                                         Smiles..

I would like to welcome back all pupils and staff after the six                                             weeks holidays and the start of a new academic year. Autumn                                         term 1 is an 8 week term, we have a teacher training day on the                                       30th September, and all staff will be participating in a full day’s                                         ACE training. Autumn 2 is a 7 week term.

We look for forward to starting a new academic year. 12 year 11’s left us in July, and we wish them every success in their future choices. Our GCSE results showed that pupils put a lot of effort into their learning, every year 11 pupil left with GSSEs, Entry Level 2 & 3 or a mixture of both. Well done. Many have already started college, and two pupils are starting apprenticeships.

Can I welcome our SENCO, Karen Priest, who has been with us part time since January, but joins full time at Talbot House. We have also opened our new development, ACES. Some of the pupils in primary have moved into ACES, but we are expecting more new admissions this half term. ACES is for our most complex pupils, there is no stipulation on age, we place pupils in ACES according to their needs. We currently have 5 pupils in ACES, with 5 more places available.

Talbot House continues to grow from strength to strength. All our staff work tirelessly to ensure we provide the best opportunities for all pupils. Our vision is for our children to leave Talbot House being confident young adults, both academically and socially ready for their next transition in life. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum that allows pupils to achieve the best they can, academically and socially.
